Digital bodypack transmitter from Sennheiser Evolution Wireless Digital. Small enough to hide in a costume, with clear, low-latency audio and rechargeable battery packs.
JAG IMX6A headset mic
A discreet, skin-coloured omni headset microphone that sits over the ear and along the cheek. The go-to choice for musical theatre, dance and presenters who move.
Sennheiser MKE 2 Gold lavalier
A tiny omni lapel mic with natural, broadcast-quality sound. Ideal for plays, speeches and hairline placement when a headset boom is not wanted.
Sennheiser EW-DX EM 2 receiver
Two channels of digital wireless per rack unit, with analogue and Dante outputs, so it drops straight into a venue desk or a networked audio system.

More than a box of mics
RF planning, fitting and mixing
Wireless is only as good as its setup. We scan the venue with Wavetool, plan clean frequencies, place antennas through active splitters and label every pack so changeovers are simple. On show days we can fit mics, manage batteries and mix from the desk.

Wireless headset hire questions
How many wireless headset mics can I hire?
Systems are built in pairs around the dual channel EW-DX EM 2 receiver, so you can hire anything from a couple of channels for an MC to a full musical theatre cast. Tell us your cast size and we will confirm availability for your dates.
Should I choose a headset mic or a lapel mic?
Headset mics such as the JAG IMX6A sit closer to the mouth, so they give more level before feedback and suit singing, dance and loud shows. Lapel mics such as the MKE 2 Gold are less visible and suit plays, speeches and hairline placement. Many productions use a mix of both.
What is included with each wireless channel?
A typical channel is an EW-DX SK bodypack, a JAG IMX6A headset or MKE 2 Gold lapel mic, a rechargeable battery and a mic belt, plus a share of a dual channel receiver. Antennas, antenna splitters and chargers are added to suit the size of the system.
Do you deliver and set up the system?
Yes. We can deliver, rack and patch the receivers, plan frequencies for your venue and fit mics on your cast. Pickup from Bendigo is also available if your team is comfortable setting up.
Can you mix the show as well?
Yes. Our audio team can mark up the script, run sound check and mix every performance. See our audio design service for more.
Will the system work with our venue sound desk?
The EW-DX EM 2 has analogue outputs for any desk, plus Dante for networked systems, so it connects to most venue setups. Let us know what desk you have and we will supply the right cabling.
How far ahead should I book?
As early as you can. School musicals and community theatre seasons cluster in the same months, and headset mics are the first thing to book out.
